2017 has been a busy year for Sutcliffe Construction with new clients and great achievements for the local organisations, sports teams and athletes we support.

Local hammer thrower Jess Mayho, whom we’ve sponsored since 2015, set a Yorkshire Championship record with a 61.62m throw. Now ranked 5th in the UK, Jess has sights set on Team GB for the 2020 Olympics and we look forward to seeing her at the 2018 British Athletics Championships. 2017 was a successful year for fell-runner Mark McGoldrick who achieved a fantastic first in the Chipping Show 7 mile, 1500ft run and third place in the Ingleborough Mountain Race. Sutcliffe also sponsors Hellifield Juniors Football Team and Wharfedale Rugby Club.

Sutcliffe has been a long-time supporter of the Malham Show and the Grassington Festival. Last year, we took the step to become a Silver sponsor for the annual Grassington Festival which attracted almost 30,000 people with headline acts such as Bananarama, Newton Faulkner and Jools Holland.

Managing director James Sutcliffe says, “Over the past 37 years Grassington Festival has grown to become one of Yorkshire’s premier art and music festivals and we’re honoured to have played a part in its success – as we are with Jess and Mark, Malham Show and the sports teams we help. Having been based in the Skipton area since we started, Sutcon has strong local roots and we believe in supporting local talent.”
